Perhaps the best part of living abroad alone, away from your own family, is the company of great people you’ve connected with. That includes some true friends you’ve made and those few who have eventually become your second family. I had the pleasure of meeting a few, welcomed at the comfort of their own homes to share great company and did I say great food? Needless to mention, that’s always been my weakness. Do you know what makes it even better? When you get to travel with the company of a lovely bunch of folks you can already call — family.
Talk about travel, the Balearic Islands have been at the top of my summer bucket list for years. There are 4 largest of these islands in the western Mediterranean, off the east coast of mainland Spain. I've been to Ibiza, Formentera, and Menorca and to finally complete the list — vamos a Mallorca! This trip is probably one of the best summers I had. Driving around the island's sandy beaches and hidden coves can be extremely fun — especially with the kids and parents altogether. It's that kind of family time/bonding with me in between. Totally, there's no dull moment. It does eliminate those stressful thoughts of work and city life. That's 5 days of full relax and fun.
